Supertwist

Supertwist is just big corkscrew, or big twist. The name can explain anything from corkscrew up, as they would all technically be supertwist. Saying supertwist can help you understand the difference between the different projects. Corkscrew is for superbrick while supertwist is for any wall. Keep in mind that the more strands in the project the harder supertwist is, I have you to find out why this is, I think it is due to the abilitiy to pull the strands tight.

You will need:

  • At least 4 strands that are all the same length, any color
  • 1 strand that is longer than the other by at least one half yard per strand.

Optional:

  • Keyring
  • Something to start the stitch on, such as a pencil.

Wall

As I thought about putting up this video I realized that there are an endless possibility of walls that could be made. I mean as long as you can start the project, there can be a wall of it. So I figured I would make one generalized video on how to create the wall. I would suggest adding two colors at a time to develop a skill for the project. If you’re pretty advanced you can just skip right to the big stuff, like the 10 color wall.

You will need:

  • As many strands as you would like, all the same length
  • 1 strand that is half a yard longer for every strand you have in the project.

Optional:

  • Keyring
  • Popsicle Stick
  • Pencil

Superbrick

Again this is one of those stitches that I never really made for my collection. There are a ton of projects that stem from this project though, so learning this base is a really good idea. Alot of what I have made have been from this stitch. Once you feel comfortable with this stitch, you will probably be ready to move onto harder projects, it seems to be a turning point of boondoggle goodness.

To make this you will need:

  • 3 strands of boondoggle all the same length (any colors)
  • 1 strand of boondoggle 1.5 times the length of the others.

Optional:

  • Keyring

Brick

The brick stitch is simply two square stitches next to each other. I don’t even think I have one in my collection at all. I never took to this stitch as I wanted something harder, and it never seemed hard. But this is a great basic stitch for the tons of other projects out there.

You will need:

  • 2 strands of boondoggle, all the same length. (any colors you want)
  • 1 strand of boondoggle about a foot longer than the others.

Optional:

  • Keyring

Corkscrew

As your projects get bigger and bigger, this becomes one of the coolest looking of them all. Sometimes you might want to set it up so there’s four different colors or only use two. No matter which colors you choose this is going to be an awesome project.

To make this you will need:

  • 3 strands of boondoggle all the same length. (your color choices do not matter)
  • one strand of boondoggle that is at least 1.5 times the length of the 3

Optional:

  • Keyring

Simple Combination Boondoggle!

These are really easy projects, but a lot of the time they look so cool that people think you have to have a lot of skill in making them. Boondoggle combos are fun to make and help you experiment with different stitches. Since these are ‘simple’ combo projects, there are not a lot in there. As you work with more strands of boondoggle, the projects really are no longer simple!

In this video I show:

  • Square and Circle Combos
  • Brick and Twist Combos
  • Supertwist
  • Superbrick and Corkscrew Combos
  • Wall and Supertwist Combos

Circle!

Besides the square stitch, circle is one of the easiest boondoggle projects you can create. Learning this stitch can be easier than square sometimes.

To make this project you will need:

  • 2 strands of boondoggle of the same size (a yard or more each)

Optional:

  • Keyring

Square!

This is the EASIEST boondoggle project that you could possibly create.

To make this project you will need:

  • 2 strands of boondoggle of the same size (a yard or more each)

Optional:

  • Keyring
